Forecasting Studies

Anticipating future trends and risks through advanced quantitative modeling and scenario analysis

Forecasting studies extend our analytical capability beyond understanding what has happened to anticipating what might unfold across multiple possible futures. We approach forecasting as a systematic methodology for exploring uncertainty, identifying emerging risks and opportunities, and supporting decision-makers with strategically navigating complex landscapes.

Forecasting Domains

Rigorous approaches to establishing causal impact

Climate & Environment

Modeling climate impacts on agriculture, water resources, migration flows, and economic growth with probabilistic forecasts for adaptation planning and resilience building

Demographic Transitions

Projecting population dynamics, aging societies, and migration patterns. Assessing implications for labor markets, social protection, and political stability

Geopolitical Dynamics

Examining evolving power structures, trade relationships, and security imperatives. Modeling development implications of strategic rivalries and regional integration

Technology Disruption

Forecasting impacts of AI, automation, and digital transformation on employment, financial inclusion, and economic structures

Economic Trends

Projecting growth paths, structural transformation, and convergence patterns through quantifying uncertainty and scenario analysis

Governance Evolution

Analyzing institutional trajectories, democratization prospects, and state capacity development across different political contexts

"Hope? at Last"

Ports, Proxies, and Partitions

A 2035 MENA Regional Outlook

Axis Institute's flagship study explores the Middle East and North Africa's regional transformation through 2035. The study models how Gulf-led trade integration, Israeli deterrence policy, and the restructuring of Palestinian governance will reshape regional stability in the next decade. Using advanced scenario-based forecasting, Monte Carlo simulations, and systems analysis, the study projects four plausible futures anchored in the interplay of economic corridors, proxy conflicts, and de facto partitions. It offers data-driven policy recommendations for Arab states, Western governments, and Palestinian leadership navigating a multipolar order defined by water diplomacy, sovereign wealth deployment, and the realignment of trade routes from India in the east, through Gulf-states and the Red Sea, to the Mediterranean and European markets.
